the location is unbeatable, with stunning views of the Sassi and just a short walk to the older and newer parts of town. the host, Michel, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, even showing us the grottos beneath the house. the apartment was spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated with a cozy atmosphere. the two terraces offered spectacular views from every window.
It truly felt like a home away from home. Cons: Nothing, no complaints at all.

The location was absolutely incredible - we had the best views of the historic part of town and could see it from every room in the house. The multiple terraces outside were perfect for enjoying the Christmas atmosphere and taking in the stunning views of the surrounding area. The host was exceptional and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They even met us at the train station and gave us a tour of the caves under the property, which was a unique and unforgettable experience. We felt truly immersed in the history and charm of the town.
There was only one minor issue during our stay - there wasn't a pan in the kitchen to cook pasta. However, I'm confident that if we had asked the owner, they would have happily provided one.

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Ferri. We came to see the incredible Sassi and coincided our visit with the Festa della bruna. The location is brilliant, right in the heart of the old town with panoramic views of the Sassi. The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean, and a real treat to stay in an ancient cave. Michele, our host, was excellent and very knowledgeable about Matera's captivating history. The property is done to a high spec and offers incredible value. We'll be recommending this place to all our friends.
We do recommend this hotel.

Casa Ferri is my go-to place in Matera. Always a delight! Staff found my lost ID card on my first stay. It has everything I need - Wi-Fi, luggage storage, flat-screen TV and express check-in/out. Can't wait to come back for New Year!

We got so much value for our money at Casa Ferri! The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully renovated with modern amenities. The location was perfect, within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do. The staff, especially the owner Michele, were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the area. They made us feel right at home and provided us with great recommendations.
The morning meal could have been better if there were more variety of options.

The triple room at Casa Ferri had a cozy tile/marble floor, which felt nice underfoot.
Personally, I found the flat-screen TV in the triple room a bit unnecessary.
